There are many famous Logos around
... but many of them are not "Internet Compatible"
simply because many Corporations did not understand the Interent
... early enough
... and as a result they missed to get hold of their Initials as an Internet Domain.
There are only 676 possible Two Letter Domains
and every combination exist only once ....
Some companies like Hewlett Packard
have been extremely performant registering their HP.com
YEARS BEFORE the Dawn of the Internet
Others like H&M missed the registration
but they had the power to buy their HM.com early enough
for "peanuts" money
Both HP.com and HM.com are in our Internet Hall of Fame
And again others like Louis Vuitton
not only missed the registration,
they sued the legitimate owner so badly
... until the famous "LV",
one of the world´s most advertised Symbols
shining over the Champs Elysees and the 5th Avenue
ended up with Liverpool Victoria,
a British Insurance
now rebranded as LV.com
Who is missing in our Hall of Fame vb.com/fame.htm
and Who is missing in our Hall of Shame vb.com/shame.htm
Post your suggestions ????

The End of U.S. Domination of ICANN = Expedited Domain Takedowns?
As the expiration of the final Joint Project Agreement between the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the US Dept. of Commerce approaches the prospect of a potential new Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) that has been drafted to be even stronger for trademark holders looms large on the horizon. The new proposed policy would expedite the process of a domain takedown where rather than the current policy of a domain being able to remain active during a Dispute Resolution process the domain in question would be preemptively shutdown and the onus of proof of a lack of conflict would instead center on the domain holder. The logic for this proposed policy shift is related to the prospect of the development of new non-English centered gTLDs. The concern by Trademark holders is that with the current policy in place as new gTLDs would come online the holders would be obliged to defensively register their trademarked names in each new gTLD and accordingly be subject to registrars' whims in "sunrise period" pricing. Who and/or what organizations would be the ones to decide whether a domain was registered in bad-faith or not? As the current policy stands trademark holders are 85% successful in having a result of Domain Dispute Process be in their favor. This new proposal would make the process inexpensive as well where with $200 a trademark holder could "attack" a domain holder and have the domain taken down very rapidly. This betanews article has further details of these developments. Does this proposal make sense?

Two Letter .com Domains
Welcome to the VB.com List
about famous Two Letter Domains.
Two Letter .com Domains are the Queens of the Internet Domains.
Do you know anything about how famous companies
have been able to get hold of their Two Letter Domains ?
Did you know that the Korean Electronics Giant LG Group,
the German Airline Lufthansa and AT&T Yellowpages
only own their respective LG.com, LH.com and YP.com
since 2009 ...
The information that AT&T paid 3,85 Million Dollars for YP.com
has been publkished
but how much did LG Group or Lufthansa pay ?
Did Lufthansa get LH.com through a court case
or through a transaction ?
